Bangalore Palace is built on the lines of the Windsor castle in Tudor style finishing has Gothic windows, Foiled windows, turrets and battlements Owned by Chamarajendra Wadiyar who bought the land with his personal funds, it is largely made of wood and has carvings and paintings to add to the beauty. To meet the high annual upkeep costs the present Wodeyar - Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar opened the palace to the public. The special attraction is the gallery housing almost thousand historical photographs of famous personalities including maharajas and viceroys. Other unique features are the convention halls, horse riding school, A Chair to weigh Jockeys, and Coat of Arms. Entry fees for Indian tourist are Rs. 175 while foreign tourists have to pay Rs. 350 with Rs. 1500/- to be paid for Video Recording and Rs. 500 for Photography. Visiting days are from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
